Where Have I Been?

We took a road trip, then Drew started school, and on his first day he sat by himself at recess and when he told me that I cried, and then we visited our new house and got excited, and then Drew asked me why we had to do a stupid move and go to a stupid new school where the teachers are stupid and the rules are stupid and by the way the color red is stupid and walking on sidewalks is stupid, and I gave him hugs and told him I loved him and he hugged me back. And I went in the other room to cry some more. And then Samantha got three teeth pulled and I held her hand and supported her from a chair at her side begged Cory to take off work so I wouldn't have to watch and read in Sunset Magazine about the 12 most exotic beach vacations in the waiting room while he sat with her. She got to pick out two toys.

But the road trip was good (it's where these pictures come from), day #2 at school was better, Samantha is on to solid foods, and while we won't be cashing in any time soon on any of those exotic beach vacations, the word "stupid" around here is being used a little less frequently. Baby steps.

I love your photos! I like how you tilted the camera! The windmill & old gas sign are my favorites!

There has to be some part of your fun life that gets to be stupid. Drew is one of the most friendly kids we know, and he'll adjust just fine.

Well, it will only be a stupid school until Drew makes his first friend in about a day or two. And Samantha was a very brave girl to go through all that while mom was freaking out.

Tell Drew Tanner had a great time with him in Paradox. By next Monday, Drew wont want to wait to tell you all about all his new friends and how nice his teacher is. You seriously had Cory take off work and you sat in the waiting room??? What are you going to do when she wants her mommy to hold her hand while she gives birth??? Just wondering. It was so good to see you guys.

Wow! I am truly impressed with your photography skills!! You are amazing. I almost started crying the other day because Austin hasn't been invited to any birthday parties yet and the girls had. Ohhh the joys and heartaches of being a parent....

Great photos! I'm glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Just keep telling Drew how great it will be to have his friends come and play in the cool dirt piles by his new house (LM had a great time!).

Wonderful. I remember the days well when I thought everything was stupid. I mean...it was only about 10 years ago for me....okay I lied, so it was last year -- give me a break!!!

Anyway, Love the pictures, there's red in every single one, besides the black and white photo, of course....get it? Cause otherwise it wouldn't be black...and....white? yeah...love ya!

Hey - thanks for commenting on my recent post. Obviously I have been in the dark for a while now because I think Kacy is one of the funniest bloggers out there. I think that this is the result of growing up in a predominantly Catholic community with very little contact with the outside world (Catholics by the way are not nearly as funny as they think they are).

If it makes you feel better, my three year-old says "and bless us that we won't say stupid anymore. . ." He's still obsessed with the word. Baby steps, indeed.

Awesome photos! I'm glad you got a chance to get away. . .
