Currently open to alternatives

I have two main coping mechanisms. Humor and food. On rare occasions the severity of a situation has rendered me comically speechless, and as I've mentioned so many times you don't even care anymore, I am currently going without sugar. SO. Hypothetically speaking, if your brother's family, your parents, and your brother-in-law's family all had to evacuate their homes because of raging wildfires in Southern California and you didn't want to make jokes about it because it's not funny and you are also unable to eat your way through it with snickerdoodles, WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

Hypothetically.

Hypothetically, I would start cleaning. Usually closets, or sometimes floor mopping. Something that doesn't require a lot of thought.
(I'm so sorry!)

Hypothetically, I would consider turning to a large bag of tortilla chips and some 7 layer dip, or some deliciously greasy pizza and garlic knots dripping with marinara sauce, or perhaps some artichoke dip with french bread. Yes, I believe that's what I would do. Hypothetically.

In all seriousness though, all thoughts to you and your family.

That is terrible, let us know how it goes.

Hope they are all safe with no damage to their homes. Hang in there.

Well, you could work out (which you are probably already doing). I like rachel's suggestion. Chips are sugar free. There's also lots of sugar free stuff--even chocolate!

Ummmm... I'm with Randi. While I know you'd hate to hear this, I advocate cleaning, it's often my "restless energy" strategy. (Not that you'd know it!) However, seven layer dip sure sounds delicious...
Hypothetically.

As I will go under the label of the "brother's family" I'd have to say, there are always exceptions to the rule. Licorice and peanut m&m's.....yes....one day wouldn't hurt. On the flip side, sometimes people crave humor since everyone else the world is at it's end. It takes some laughter to snap people out of it.....even though it may not seem like it at the time, life does go on. Greg went back to work today. He dropped me off at the airport while going back an hour later to pick up his parents. The miracle is this: part of the fire ripped through half of the Felicita's ward boundaries....not one member of tha ward lost their home...including my parents. Now that's a miracle!
