Sick

It's true, I've been sick for a couple of days.  In the last 12 hours I have watched a movie, taken a nap, and responded to 3 emails, and I'm exhausted.  But I don't want you to feel sorry for me because it's also a little bit awesome.  When I was a young mom with little kids I used to envy Cory on a sick day because he could just stay in bed or lay on the couch until he felt better to return to work.  When I was sick I still had to wipe butts, drive carpool and make sandwiches while fantasizing about 2 hours uninterrupted to watch something other than animated aardvarks or creatures with TV's in their stomachs whose sexual orientation was questionable.

Now?

I DO WHATEVER I WANT.

Which is what makes last night so puzzling.  Samantha was in the other room doing homework and I was on the couch watching TV when Cory and Drew arrived home from basketball practice.  Seeing me on the couch Drew glanced my direction and asked, "Hey Mom, what are you watching?"
"Hannah Montana: The Movie," I replied.
He stopped, looked at me, then shook his head and said, "I'm not even going to say anything."

I have no defense.  I hadn't taken my NyQuil yet so I can't even claim being "under the influence".  Let's just say the remote was really far away and I hadn't eaten much, alright?!

Love it!! I enjoy crazy things when I am sick too. Stuff I would never do if I were well. I think I just need a moment or two to help me remember that I really don't want to continue to feel that way! Hope you feel better soon!

I can't believe you admitted that on blogland. Hannah Montana? Really?
Hmmmmm.....you should really stick with the story of "under the influence".

Hope you get feeling better.
Maybe you can lay around all day long but you still have all that laundry and stuff waiting for you when you feel like superwoman again. Unless your hubs is totally superman.

You are sick. that's enough to justify the delirium and the questionable choice of entertainment.

REALLY?! You get sick days when you are older? Lady, you have given me hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Admitting this is sort of like the embarrassement I felt when I admitted by idea of a fun computer game is Sally's Spa and Sally's Salon. Geez, I wish I could just stop admitting that.....

That must have been REALLY far away. Might I point out that you have 91 followers...which computes to about 182, let's face it, some people would rather stalk without being known. So, my point? I just wanted to let you know that I am basking in the glory of the fact that I have a "famous" sister-in-law.

good for you! I have been in bed since Sunday with cellulitis in my shin. and not complaining, my 6 year old makes me grilled cheese and yogurt with blueberries and hot chocolate. The 15 year old makes supper. I think this is my last glory day... It's been so nice to be lazy. (I too remember throwing up and then changing bums and making lunches, sleeping on the couch with babies sitting on me)

Don't sweat it! It coulda been much worse! You could have gotten caught watching Sister Wives...when you weren't even sick!!! (Not saying that happened to me or anything).
Feel better soon!

I love having my kids in school! Was the movie any good? Oh, wait, I think Pete has seen that, I'll ask him. Don't even ask why Pete has seen Hannah Montana.

Hope you feel better soon. And I'm sure you can find some better movie to watch if you try JUST a little bit harder to find that remote.

Hey Rascal Flatts, and Taylor Swift are featured in that movie....At least that's what I have heard from other loser moms who've watched it

I swear I meant to put *when your kids are older.* I am so insulting.

Hannah Montana? I'd like to say your blog is giving me a whole new respect for you ... I guess you do hit a new high mark for patience.
