Bangs! Bangs!

In my defense it was a snow day, and I had cabin fever, and the scissors were RIGHT THERE.  And actually, when I say it was a snow day what I mean is it snowed all night, and then the phone rang at 5:30 am so the automated message on the other end could inform me that the high school was delayed a whole THIRTY MINUTES.  Thank goodness for that half hour, because I swear if I had had to leave at 7:00 am instead of 7:30 am I probably would have had to help shovel FIVE people out instead of just the FOUR.

But eventually the day got underway and I was home alone for six hours.  Cold and alone and already caught up on my DVR'd episodes of The Middle, I looked in the mirror and said, "I think I need bangs."  That's how I got here:

And incidentally, how I ended up looking twelve years old.  And not even just because of the eyeroll.

I discovered something while I was cutting my bangs in the mirror.  See that mole on my neck?

 How about now?

I've received mixed reviews on my bangs.  When Samantha got in the car as I picked her up from school she said, "What happened?"  "I was bored," I answered.  Then she said, "And THAT'S why I don't let you cut my hair."  Cory also confessed that it is not his favorite, but the guy gets credit for supporting me when I went red.  Remember that?  Ooh!  And remember when wearing a rainbow shirt didn't mean you were gay?

You could always just focus on my cute scarf.

I love them! They look way better than mine. I knew I should've done them myself.

I don't know if that is a mole or not but your hair cut is stinking cute!!!!

I did a haircut/hack job on my hair, cuz I was bored. SCARY.
You done good!

Ignore the kids reviews of the hair. What do they know?

Hey, I think they're cute (and I know you care what strangers you've never met think about your hair).

I'm maybe the only person I know whose hair refuses to allow bangs, so I not only think they're cute; I'm also jealous you can have them.

I like the bangs, the mole hair I could do without. (Does this mean another shipment from Equador?)

Really, I do like them.

As someone who has way too many cowlicks to ever be able to rock the fringe bang, I love them! I have wanted to do bangs like that so badly for the last few years but it would just never work for me.

I think you look hot.

Way cute! I actually have bangs right now, too, and I've been told I look at least 5 years younger. I'm all for younger, and you look gorgeous.

I love your bangs, and your hairy mole... How is it that we can check for hair daily and nothing, then suddenly it's three inches long!

Cute bangs! And since you commented on my comment about Rachel's "unpleasantness", I had to come read your blog. OK, can I just say that I needed kleenex and a redo on today's mascara I was laughing so hard?! I am now officially stalking your blog and it's your job to make me laugh daily! I'm sure you will rise to the task brilliantly.

Oh, I and just for reference I have a mole above my lip that gets a hair in it on occasion. One day my 3 year old asked me if I was trying to be a kitty. Nice. I have carried tweezers with me almost everywhere I go since! You're not alone sister! Sad in this instance, but true.

Thelissa: Here kitty kitty! That's so funny.

Vern, scissers and boredom, hmmm, a dangerous mix.

Good thing the bangs came out well.

Love the bangs. I didn't know your daughter was running for queen of tact!? I used to do spontaneous hair trimmings on my very own head, but now I'm older and can't find the scissors. Or much of anything, really.

Bangs hide forehead wrinkles.

Scarves hide...a multitude of sins. Like hairy moles, among other things. Did you burn yourself with the curling iron again?

P.S. Your bangs are cute.

Holy Cow sista! I knew there was something different about you this morning! I starred at you (sorry) and thought, "did she have bangs before?" I didn't want to ask in a room full of men! Since you were on the BOYS side and all!

FYI: I think you look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
